Setting up Gift Vouchers with Salon Tracker



Do you offer gift vouchers in your store and want to keep track of these on Salon Tracker? Then keep reading as this blog will run you through how you can set up Gift Vouchers as a product to purchase and how customers can redeem them in store!



First you will need to navigate to the products section where you can add in your product categories. 


To add the category click the '+' button.





Then type in your category e.g. Gift Vouchers





Then to add in your gift voucher pricing click on your new 'Gift Vouchers' category and select 'add' 








Here you can add in your gift voucher name by typing in the description 
e.g. £10 Gift Voucher












You can also add the pricing (£10)







and also how many of that voucher you have in stock. Make sure to tick the 'Monitor stock levels?' box 







And here you can type in the amount of stock. 


Then click save





You have now added in all your gift vouchers!







In order to set up the customers redeeming the gift vouchers you can now set up a category called 'Gift Vouchers REDEEM' 




Once you have created this category you can then add in your Gift Vouchers for redeeming. Similarly to adding in your gift voucher add in your description.


 e.g. £10 Gift Voucher REDEEM


This time set your price as -£10. It is important to set it to minus as this will deduct the amount! 






Again you can set the stock as the amount you have, so you can keep track of how many people have redeemed the vouchers!

Valentines Day Marketing




Valentine’s day is just around the corner and for many people it’s the perfect day to spoil your loved ones. This blog will discuss how your salon can make the most of this day! There are three simple steps involved in making a success of this day: Planning, Marketing and Selling. So, keep reading to see how you can upsell your treatments and retail products this Valentine's Day.


Planning

Before you can go out and start advertising your deals and offers it’s important to determine which of your services and retail products are going to be most popular for V-day sales. To make your salon more appealing for those looking at treating a loved one, it’s a good idea to bundle a few treatments together and create a special ‘Valentine’s Day Package’. You could do a few different priced packages to appeal to a broader range of people, starting with a couple of services for a lower price and going up to a more premium price and including your more expensive services in these packages. The same can be done with your retail products by putting together a few different priced hampers. The key is to figure out which of your treatments will perform best, whether its massages, nails, facials etc.

Another great way to utilise Valentine’s Day is by selling gift vouchers, you could even get specific ones printed for Valentines day and give them a bit more of a personalised feel. Gift cards also often result in people spending more as they know they’re going to be getting say £20-£30 off, so it’s a win-win as a salon owner.

Gift hampers are also a great idea during this period! It's so quick and easy to create a bundle full of the products you sell in your salon (maybe even some that are not usually as popular to promote them) - you could even add in a gift voucher into this to make it an extra special gift!

Marketing

Once you’ve done all of your planning, it’s time to market it to your customers and target customers. As we all know by now, the main place you want to be showing off these deals is across your Social Media platforms, as this will not only help reach your current customers, but it will also help to reach potential new customers! Especially with Instagram and Facebook having an option for customers to share your posts, it will further help to reach a wider range of people. 

The best way to market your offer is by creating an eye-catching post to make sure it stands out amongst others when someone is scrolling through their feed. Canva is a great tool for this with loads of templates and images you can use! You can then use the same image across all of your social media platforms, and this will help to show consistency. Here’s an example of one that I quickly made by using a template, to show you how easy it is:






You also want to make sure that you make it obvious in your physical salon that there are going to be deals available, for example on your reception desk it would be a good idea to place the hampers in view, along with any gift vouchers.

SMS messages have a great open rate of around 98%, so it’s a great way to directly market your customers. By using both the SMS marketing suite and the use of social media, you are massively increasing your chances of having a successful number of sales.

Selling

After all of your planning and preparation I’m sure it will all pay off when it comes to the day. As Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this time, it makes it an even better opportunity to make the most of it, as you can extend the offers and deals to run until the end of Sunday and ensure that your calendar is fully booked!

Viral Beauty Products on TikTok Shop



TikTok is one of the largest social media platforms to date. In September 2023, TikTok launched TikTok Shop. In just over a year, TikTok Shop has made just over $11 billion in GMV, making it an extremely successful move for them. It has never been easier than to watch videos on TikTok and have the product the creator talks about linked on the video and purchased in the same app. This blog will tell you all about the latest trending beauty products on TikTok Shop, which you can take into account when recommending and deciding which beauty products to stock at your salon.

 

Tanning

Supre Tan – Go To Black: This sunbed cream is arguably the best on the market. It is known to make you several shades darker after just one use. TikTok Shop alone has sold over 15,000 of these and it has a rating of 4.8/5 stars. These are currently priced at £24.97

Supreme Tan – Intensifying Cream: This is one of the newer creams on the market but thanks to TikTok, it has gone viral. The Supreme Tan Travel Size Tanning Bundle has just under 13,000 sales on TikTok Shop alone and has a rating of 4.6/5 stars. This bundle is currently priced at £12 but the full size cream is £20 and the gel is on sale from £25 down to £19.

2bTanned –  Intensifying Soft Gel: This sunbed cream is also fairly new to the market but has gone viral all over TikTok. 2bTanned formulated this gel due to feedback about how customers wanted to have the same results as their other gel but feel less sticky after application. It has so far sold over 10,000 units and has a rating of 4.8/5 stars. These are currently priced at £25.

 

Beauty

P.Louise – Bad B*tch Energy Lip Duo: This product is one of the top selling products in the history of TikTok Shop. This lip duo includes a lip conditioner and a lip oil to leave your lips soft and glossy. It comes in a range of different scents and the packaging is what makes these stand out. Over 1.4 Million of these have been sold on TikTok Shop with a rating of 4.8/5 stars. These are currently priced at £18.

Made By Mitchell – Blursh: Blursh is an affordable liquid blush that has taken the internet by storm. It comes in a range of shades suitable for every skin tone. Over 685,000 of these have been sold on TikTok Shop with a rating of 4.8/5 stars. These are currently on sale from £14 down to £8.


Hair

Nature Spell – Rosemary Oil: This hair oil went viral last year and is still a staple in most people’s haircare routine. It is great for hair thickening, length and overall strengthening. There has been over 780,000 of these sold on TikTok Shop with a rating of 4.7/5 stars. These are currently on sale from £8 down to £7.20.

Give Me Cosmetics – The Full Haircare Set: This haircare set is the ultimate bundle which includes everything you need to look after your luscious locks. It includes a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, hair repair cream, hair serum, and heat defense spray. Over 82,000 of these have been sold on TikTok Shop with a rating of 4.7/5 stars. These are sold for £22.50 but are worth £71 individually.

 

All of these products are best-sellers on TikTok Shop and are the latest and greatest to add to your beauty collection. Visit TikTok Shop to have a look for yourself and maybe you will take these into account when deciding which beauty products to recommend and stock at your salon.

Enterprise Features on Salon Tracker


This weeks blog is going to focus on how our customers have benefited from upgrading to our Enterprise Subscription.

This feature is perfect for all salons, so that if you get messages away from the salon you can still book clients in. Further, for anyone with self-employed stylists or beauticians, it can be set so that they can only view their own columns on the calendar, ensuring that double bookings aren’t being added. The calendar view will also allow employees to view their working hours, this is great for those of you that work in a rota format, as employees can quickly and easily check what days and times they’re working.

The Siteview app is ideal for taking a quick overview when you’re away from the salon, enabling you to look at a dashboard of the days takings, bookings and customers, as well as being able to see the reports.

Cloud Storage

With the Enterprise package you also get cloud storage. This means that if anything were to happen to your PC or laptop your data would be safely stored on the cloud where we can restore it for you on a new Salon Tracker. This is great for if you run into any trouble. You just have to make sure when shutting down Salon Tracker that your data is synced online.


Multisite


If you are a multisite, the Enterprise package is the perfect option for you
! With Enterprise you are able to link your sites together so customers can use their minutes in any of your salons if you so wish.

If you have 3 or more sites you are also entitled to a free HQ when they are on our Enterprise package. This means you can access all of your sites on Salon Tracker to see your bookings, takings and reports. This is great for when you are unable to head into the salons and need to see what's going on!

The Best Kept Salon Secrets!


You're probably wondering what these secrets are... and why you don't know them already. 


The thing is, although salons are very similar in what they do, they can be very different in how they do things. Therefore what works well for some may not for others, so we've spoken to a number of salons and gathered together just what it is that they think keeps their salon busy regardless of how small or big a thing it is...

  • Treat being a stylist/ therapist/ beautician as your hobby and not your job!

When your job is all about making someone look and feel good about themselves you begin to get the same feeling. If you do it for fun, your 'job' actually turns into something to look forward to every day. Having that passion for your job will reflect in how your work looks and how your clients react. This goes both ways though and if you treat your job as a chore then that will show too. The brighter you make work feel, the more likely a customer is to book again!

  • Accepting the ups and the down's as a learning curve rather than a set-back

Learning to deal with the downs of a salon as a learning curve not a set-back is the best decision you could make. For example, if you have an unusually quiet period in Summer... why could that be? A Guide on how to add in your Services on Salon Tracker

 Want to know how to add in new courses? new beauty treatments? new offers?


Well this blog will give you a step by step guide on how you can do just that... So read on to find out!


First you need to head to the 'Management' tab on Salon Tracker (for access to this you need to be logged into Administrator)

    

    Then select the 'booking services' tab
























Then select 'Tanning' and the '+' to add your new category in... If you are adding into an existing category just select this (e.g. courses)


















Then type in the description you want for your category (e.g. offers) and select ok to save this.














Then select the new category tab (e.g. offers)
















Then select 'Add'














Now you can add in the information you need!

So in 'Description' you can add in the name of your offer.

In 'Retail Price' you can add in the price you are selling it for.










For example here you can see the offer is '60 Minutes + 10 Minutes free' and the price is '£40'


















Then select the 'Service' tab


















Here you can add in the 'Duration' of the service. so in this case it would be 70 Minutes (60 minutes + 10 minutes free = 70 minutes)













If you want to add an expiry period select the drop down on 'Expiry Period' and add in what you want (e.g. 1 year)















Then click save and this will add your service!
















The service will then show when booking your customers in!









For Beauty you can do the same thing and add in your description (e.g. 5 nails + 1 free)














Then, in the services tab similarly to tanning you can add in the duration of the treatment e.g. 90 minutes, AND also the pack quantity.

For just 1 appointment you can put the pack quantity as 1. 

In this case as it's 5 nail appointments and 1 free, the pack quantity would be 6!
